Teddies Tots Aims & Objectives
It is our priority to make each child and their family feel welcome and valued from their first day onwards. In order to do this, we have a settling in procedure. On your initial visit, you will meet your child's key person. This is the person with whom you will have the most contact. The key person takes a special interest in your child and has specific duties. These include:1. Settling your child into Nursery
2. Being your Main point of contact for all matters concerning your child's well being, development, health and behaviour.
3. Keeping all your child's records up to date - these records are available for you to look at at any time, just ask your key person.
4. Keeping your child's learning journey up to date with daily information, monthly observations and termly assessments.
5. Observing your child's development and learing, sharing their successes with you and planning how to help your child reach their full potential.
6. Working in partnership with you to find solutions to any problems that might occur.
Under the Date Protection Act, we have to ensure that we obtain the correct information on your child and family, this includes correct spellings of first and second names.
Your key person will show you and your child around, introduce you to everyone and begin getting to know your child a little. They will ensure all the paperwork is completed. We include an initial child profile to enable you to pass on as much information as possible about your child's needs, likes/dislikes and interests. Your key person will arrange a series of visits to give your child a chance to familiarise with other children, staff and the environment. Within a few visits most children are ready to start Nursery. Our settling in procedures is designed to meet individual needs. If you have any concerns, please talk to your Key person or manager/deputy.
